ACB Statement on the European Union Referendum

28/06/2016 13:22:38

The Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine (ACB) notes the outcome of the European Union (EU) referendum and the decision to leave the EU. Following the referendum, the ACB wishes to highlight the importance of close collaborative working with laboratory medicine associations and professional colleagues across Europe. While recognising the challenges involved, the ACB is committed to continuing with this engagement.

Many of our UK members are EU nationals and we will do whatever we can to support them through this difficult transition.  In addition, the Association will use its influence with government to ensure that important collaborative programmes which lose EU funding can be funded through alternative mechanisms where necessary.
